Types of Health Insurance Policies

There are a number of ways that people in the United States can be insured besides being in a group plan. Individuals and their families can be covered under state or federal government sponsored programs. These plans include Medicare or Medicaid.
There are service type policies such as Blue Cross. There are options such as Health Maintenance Operation (HMO) or Preferred Provider Organizations (PPO) plans.
Any person is able to purchase a private plan if they have the resources. Individual policies can be extremely expensive, so make sure you check them out thoroughly.
