Fil-Am Vets Rondalla

What instruments can you play? If not which instrument do you wish you can learn?

What instruments can you play? If you don’t play any, which one would you like to play? As for me I am a good singer, I am a baritone. I can play the guitar, both acoustic and electric. I can play the upright base. And a few songs on a harp.
I wish I knew how to play the piano and violin. However, when I was younger these lessons were too expensive for me. My girlfriend can play the piano quite well.

I feel bad for Urbanian for the bagpipe thing. I play the Scottish bagpipes and have been at them for about six years. I played the flute for eight years very well, but have lost touch with it. I’m currently in a bagpipe band and we do Scottish festivals and things like that. It’s a lot of fun. I wish I knew how to play the guitar and the piano. I have a really old guitar and I started to take lessons for guitar and piano with my best friend but it didn’t last long because she plays the bagpipes too and we would end up just wanting to learn more songs on the bagpipes. Lol. Music is the best. I hope I can always play an instrument.

    Piano, alto sax, some trumpet.

I’d like to know drums, the bassoon, and probably the instruments of pure death.

I can play the piano, and guitar. I prefer acoustic over electric. I’d like to learn to play the violin, a 16 string, bass, drums, and the harp.

I learned guitar and then I learned piano on my own. Just sit at a piano with your guitar and play what you know on guitar and see if you can figure it out on the piano.

Started on the clarinet, but switched to oboe. Played it for years before I discovered how much I didn’t enjoy it. Wanted to play sax, but couldn’t find one cheap, so I played flute for a while (same fingerings), but not a good fit. Then I discovered the string bass and LOVE IT!!!

I can play most woodwinds a little. I can play a scale on any of the strings. I can play keyboard a little, but not much. I wish I was good on a pipe organ.

I’ve wanted to play trombone since I was a child. I practiced on it for a while, but never got very far. Also practiced on a baritone and enjoyed that. Wish I could play timpani.

I took one lesson on bagpipes (hey, I’m good on oboe, so this should be a cinch, no?) and learned that it’s one WEIRD instrument! I threw in the towel fast!

    No desire for guitar.

I read music, so singing is easy, but my ear is too critical to think my voice is worth hearing. I’d rather accompany someone else with my bass.

I’ve never really had a chance to learn how to play anything, I would be happy with learning any instrument, guitar probably the most. I’m a decent singer.

I wish I could play the Xylophone. I don’t play an instrument because my parents couldn’t afford lessons. I took piano for awhile. I didn’t know then, but I have A.D.D. and I doubt that I could have followed along at the right pace when I read music. I can play by ear, and that is why I would like to play the Xylophone.

I sing first soprano in choir and play classical piano. I’m a fair singer and an excellent pianist (according to my teacher who wanted me to go into music in college; I chose biology, however). I wish I could play the cello; I love the warm, rich tones you can get from it.

I’ve played the bassoon and french horn for the past 15 years.

I can play fluidly on anything else in a band or orchestra.

The one instrument I have never tried is the harp. I think it would be interesting.
