What instrument does the bassoon normally sit next to?

I am switching to the bassoon soon, and i would like to know which instruments does the bassoon normally sit next to? I will be the only bassoon player in my band so, I’m looking for another instrument.

You generally would be sitting to either the tenor or bari sax on one side, with the base clarinets and the clarinets to the other, in the third row of stands
that is how our school sets up

Trombones and Saxes. Trombone usually, because Bassoon and Trombone have like the same pitch and You read the same music. :)
    Good luck on bassoon!
If you don’t sit by the trombones then…Sorry for my answer cause that’s where i sit. hah..

It depends… my fellow bassoon player and I sit next to the bass clarinets and the flutes, and every once and a while the bari sax (I don’t know why we don’t sit next to her all the time, probably because my director is crazy) but if depends on what instrumentation you have in the band. For example, we have a billion flutes, therefore, I sit next to a flute most of the time. In orchestra it would be different. The bassoon is awesome! Have fun, and try not to break your reed!

    I play the bassoon.
