What is an a better instrument to play between a Guitar and Bass Guitar?
Im trying to learn how to play either one of these instruments! Personally I think Bass guitar is better because for some reason it makes a good sound to my ears:P
But I want other peoples opinion which one should I play?
Which ones better to you and why?
Which ever one gets the most Ill learn how to play that instrument!
i’m guaranteeing you are going to get a lot of answers on guitar, so please don’t base it off that. This is my opinion, i’ve been playing bass for 7 years and guitar for 2. I started on bass because I liked the sound more, they are easy to switch between, but the main reason I say play bass is because you are going to be more inclined to play something that you like listening to. If you play bass and you like the sound you aren’t going to want to put it down, which means you’ll get better. Same goes for when you are buying an instrument, if you don’t like the sound you won’t want to play it. Good luck.

Try bass. Because if you’re looking to join a band, bassists are in much higher demand

Well if you like bass you probably like a smoother sound. Or a rhythm type person.
That means you won’t like electric because it will be too whiny. I like acoustic and electric 6-string personally. There’s just more types of sounds you can make than with a bass.
But if you like the sound Bass makes then follow your ears!

Well one is in bass clef and the other is in Treble clef. The music for bass guitar tends to be easier but the rest of the band look to you to keep the beat. The guitar tends to be more technical.
I play bass, myself. Played in the Navy, so I’m partial to that.

Bass is good and its quite easy but if you are playing in a band you wont get as much in the lime light as the others do, if you want that which i dont go for an electric guitar
my personal favourite is bass though
good luck ^.^

You should play the Electric Guitar first in order to master the basics of Bass guitar. You should master your sense of rhythm first and use that in making your style in using the Bass guitar…

I personally like bass better, because a song with no bass, is not really that great a song. It’s liek the back bone of the song, I think….
Plus, if it sounds good to your ears it will be easier to learn, more enjoyable to play, and you’ll probably end up more creative if you choose to write songs…
Send me a postcard when your famous!!

Depends on your preferences. Guitar is harder to learn, you have to practice for a while before you get really good, and bass you can just pick up and start having fun, so it’s really just how much time you have and how much motivation you have. If you have lots of time and are really focused I would say go for guitar, but if you a tight schedule, and want instant gratification go for bass.

Personal experience, I’ve played guitar for 4-5 years, and bass is very similar, I play my friends bass all the time.
You are about to embark on an awesome journey that leads to hours of not being bored, and having a lifetime skill that you can be very passionate about! There are a few things that can actually tell you what you are more cut out to play, but mainly it is personal choice. I started on guitar and played for 8 years before picking up my first bass, and once I did I never turned back. Bass is a huge passion of mine and one of the funnest instruments to play. Some tells would be, when you listen to music do you concentrate more on the guitar in the song or the bass? I have always found even when I played guitar I was always listening for the bass player, the sound always got me harder than a guitar did. Either way I would say grab a bass and later on down the line get an acoustic guitar, it is always good to know both. Bassists are a dying bread, keep the rhythm going!
Oh and p.s…I noticed some of the answers were saying that bass is easier, and this is not always the case…look at Victor Wooten, Bootsy Collins, Geddy Lee, Brian Robinson, Alex Webster, etc….these guys definatly take bass playing to a whole new level and with enough practice you can keep the rhythm and be a main focus! Thats what I try to do with my bass playing.

Having played guitar/bass for most of my life
since you seem to like the way the bass sounds i would go with the bass. when learning a musical instrument it is very very VERY important to make sure you stay interested in the things you are playing. if you become bored it’s over, especially in the beginning stages of learning. to put it simply go with the bass because it is what you like to hear best( and because their are already 20 million guitar players out their).
