The first rule of beer pong is that you can’t cover or smack the ball away from the cups on the beer pong tables with your hands. If you’re using a paddle, however, go ahead and defend your brew like it was your family. Do your best to prevent that ping-pong ball from taking one of your beers away.

As a side note, if you choose to blow it out of a cup, it’s not only a violation, it’s a sissy’s move. If that or any other violation occurs, the opposing player gets a free shot or do-over. Those throwing the ball have three types of pitches, arc shot, fastball, and bounce shot. Depending on your throwing hand, try each one before playing and see if they work. Otherwise, you’ve always got the paddle as well.
