I have a few ideas, based on your life.

Movie – Let the Right One In. It’s a Swedish vampire film, tons of interesting themes, creepy while still being compelling and almost intensely innocent at times.

Music – There’s a lot of good JEW out there, especially if you look at the first album. Have you listened to Radiohead? You might really like them. Give "Paranoid Android" a chance; when the song hits it’s apex, it is total genius. Also, have you ever listened to George Gershwin? I’m convinced he’s the greatest composer of the 20th Century.

Books – Heart of Darkness is INCREDIBLE, especially if you watch "Apocalypse Now" after you read it. Kurt Vonnegut is a solid option, too. If you’re looking for something funny, but also smart, check out David Sedaris (he’s an essayist).

Hope those help!

I don’t know about the movies but as for the songs you can always go on Pandora.com, it’s free and what you do is you create your own "radio station" with artists you like, and it plays a song first by the artist and then it plays a song by a similar artist. Its pretty cool.
