What instrument should i learn to play next?

I already play the Bass Trombone, Trumpet, Flute, Clarinet, and Violin and im in high school. i want to learn how to play another instrument, but im unsure on which.

I would choose one and learn to master it.
I was the same way in school. Before 11th grade I knew the Clarinet, French Horn, Sax, Picoolo/flute, trumpet, violin and upright bass…

I finally settled on the bassoon and it has taken me 15 years and I still have not mastered it. So, for you? based on what you have already played I would pick an instrument that will challenge you and keep you interested. Aparently these aren’t doing it for you.

I would recommend Cello, Oboe, or French Horn.

That should keep you busy.

Whats the most difficult instrument to play?

My friend said, in her opinion, the Theremin.

I havent played every instrument, including a theremin. I know what it is, just never met anyone who owned one.

What do you think is the most difficult instrument to play?

The theremin is simple to play – you just wave your hands. No big deal.

I think the most difficult instrument to play is the pedal steel guitar. It has two 10-string necks, five knee levers, and 8 to 10 foot pedals. That’s a lot to keep track of.

I can write songs but I dont know how to play instrument? What can I do ?

First of all, you need to learn how to play the piano. it is the king of all instruments, and its the easiest. Then, get a mac if you dont have one, and a midi keyboard. Garageband is great for writing songs… you can record on your keyboard or write in the notes.
thats what I do.

but if you cant get garageband, then you can use jamstudio.com.

Hope I helped!

how do u even start to play rockband on the wii just using the remote. the case said no instrument needed help?

trying to play but wont let me keeps saying no microphone detected but i want to play the drums or guitar. the store said no instruments needed. help me please

Read the manual, but it sounds like you have to switch the instrument from mic (default with no instrument) to guitar or drums, then go into career or quickplay.

Is it too late to start learning to play an instrument or dance?

I’m 17 years old and i cant play an instrument or dance. I’m a cheerleader but i want to see what other talents i have. Am i starting too late or can i still try to learn?
thanks guys so much! these were amazing and inspirational answers. :)

It’s never too late to learn to play an instrument or dance, as talents are naturally unlocked as your life progresses. However, it’s common knowledge that it’s always better to start at a younger age -when your mind is still developing. You probably won’t have it too bad, since you’re still seventeen.

Personally, if an interest in music/dancing hasn’t clicked in your mind until now, I wouldn’t rely on it being "easy" to learn something new in the musical arts. You also NEED to have a basic sense of rhythm to do music and/or dancing, as both are centered around the metronome.

More specifically, you need to understand some basics in playing music, such as harmonising with the different instruments, regardless of whether you’re in a rock band or an orchestra.

The first things you need to learn are the specific types of keys used in music. Of course you have your notes, but learning where those notes are played is just as important as playing them altogether. I’d have to e-mail you with the explanation, as it is a bit lengthy.

Do you have to be able to play an instrument to go to a Performing Arts College?

I want to learn at a Performing Arts College how to play an instrument.–_–

No, most performing arts colleges that have instrumental programs require you to know the instrument before you get there. For that matter, I don’t personally know of any university that will let you be an instrumentalist with no prior instrumental experience. Even at my public university, if you wanted to play an instrument in an ensemble or take lessons on an instrument, you pretty much had to have some prior experience on the instrument.

If you want to go to a performing arts school for an instrument, I’d suggest starting now. That’s your best bet.
