Fil-Am Vets Rondalla
what’s the best budget recording software and equipment for making a music track?
I’ve got all the instruments (guitars, drums, midi/electric keyboard, and microphone but it’s a cheap one) and a computer with windows xp media center and a built in mic, but I need to know what programs are out there for about 50 dollars that’ll work on windows xp and let my band record and edit music easily. We also need some pointers on what microphones and other stuff we’ll need for most rock type music. and remember, only windows stuff. we don’t want to have to buy an imac or their version of xp just to run garageband. we can do that at one of our friends’ houses when we record @ really good quality.
For 50 bucks??? I don’t think you’re gonna find ANYTHING that cheap, unless you get REAL lucky at a pawn shop. Now if you want to kick in another hundred, go buy an Alesis Multimix 8. Plugs direct to your computer with a USB cable, sounds great, and is easy to use. You can also go directly to a CD burner with it. It comes with a Cubase LE program, so you can record in wav.

What Recording Equipment is best for my band?
I need to get a good, not too expensive way to record my bands music for the internet and CDs. we’ve got an acoustic, bass, drums, electric, keyboards, a singer, and random instruments I bring from the orchestra. We can record parts one at a time like a lot of programs do. but I don’t know where to go or what to get!!
Thanks!
Our CD will be fawsome! 100% fool!
since the cost of recording equipment is very expensive, you may want to all chip in and rent time in a professional studio that has everything and will cut you a demo.

Which three cockpit instruments/equipment will get priority in power supply from this emergency system?
In case of engine failure the electrical power supply will also fail. For this an airliner is equipped with emergency power supplies like a ram air turbine and/or a back-up battery.
priority on your landing/navigation instruments so you can land.

What is the best equipment to measure instantaneous solar light intensity?
Please tell me of an instrument that’s best suited for measuring solar flux (W/m^2)..
Since that depends on your use (i.e., portable, possible wavelength preference, etc.) you might consider using google:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&channel=s&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=X6t&q=solar+flux+%28W%2Fm^2%29+measurement+instrument&aq=f&oq=&aqi=
When you’ve narrowed your search down to a few companies, i.e.
http://www.apogee-inst.com/products.htm
you might phrase your question more specifically and write their service departments .
The idea itself is simple, e.g.

What is your favorite musical instrument? and Why?
DJ equipment and computers aren’t musical instruments.
-the harp (both concert one & Celtic one) -divine sound!
-the lute and theorbo -I just love any music performed on those instruments!
-the recorders (ALL sizes), just way too underestimated instrument family! NOT "children only"!!!
-Uilleann pipes -I adore Celtic music!!

What type of equipment do I need for a recording studio?
What type of software, mics, amps, instruments, mixers, and best type of computer do I need for a recording studio?
There are four phases.
Phase 1: Recording. This includes microphones, guitar amps, the vocals room, microphone cables, direct boxes for bass, the soundboard, pre amplifiers, compressors and instruments. The least you need is a microphone and a microphone cable.
Phase 2: Interface. This includes recording interfaces, preamps, recording devices, recording soundboards, etc. This phase translates the music into a recognizable signal for the computer or recording device which then "writes" or "records" the information. The least you need is a recording device or a computer with a usb functioning recording interface.
Phase 3: Editing. This portion involves cutting out, altering, and adding effects to the music. Mixing is also a big part of this, and a computer does the best job because of the many options and big, wide programs which do an amazing job of editing. The least you need is a program which allows you to cut out bad stuff you don’t want.
Phase 4: Monitoring. This portion is litterally monitoring how it sounds with your ears and equipment. This includes things like powered monitors, unpowered monitors and a power amp, good monitoring treated acoustically sound rooms, headphones, and computer speakers. The least you’ll need is a pair of headphones.
Ideally, you would grab a sure sm57 for instruments, sure sm58 for vocals, a usb recording interface, a computer, pro tools or some cheap recording software, a powered monitor or two, and two rooms – one room for recording, and one room for mixing and monitoring (the control room is what they call it).
Good freakin luck dude. This stuff is spendy. I would suggest purchasing a stand alone recorder with a built in mic. Cheap, effective, and you’ll know whether or not recording is something you’d want to pursue.

is there a good cheap USB microphone that I can use for recording sounds of an instrument?
Hi,
I have a dulcimer, and I would like to record my music playing with some kind of microphone that plugs into my laptop via a usb cable. Does such a thing exist for recording decent quality music? Or perhaps I need other equipment besides a microphone for this kind of thing, right?
I would appreciate any help, even specific product recommendations.
Thanks
Yes. I would choose the Creative 5.11 microphone if i was you. It has a very good sound quality and recording, editing and trimming is perfect. You can hear the sounds of it very clearly.
