I could use assistance deciding what equipment I should get to record my music?

I’ve been recording with my friends cassette played he got at radioshack for like $15 bucks and i’m looking to get something better. I’ve got about $100 bucks to spend, what would you suggest for recording music? I’ll be recording mostly your basic rock instruments, in other words guitar, drums, vocals

If you have a computer, you can just get a USB audio interface and use that for recording (with mics):

Where can I buy video production equipment?

Are there any big brand name stores for video production? For musical instruments threre is Long and McQuade, for golf there is GolfTown, what about video production??

I’m looking to buy professional camcorders, wireless lavalier microphones, shotgun microphones, lighting equipment, and green screens.

What is something totally awesome your best friend has done for you?

One of my best friends slept in the back of a truck all the way from Canada down to Texas just so she could be at my wedding – she was my only friend at my wedding (due to the distance from home) but she made it!

And last night, another one of my best friends and her boyfriend wrote a song for me and recorded it (he has recording equipment/instruments) and emailed it to me as a surprise.

One of my friends saved me from getting into trouble once.

What do you think the number one reason a musician pawns his instrument and equipment is ?

I pawned my custom pearl white Charvel so I wouldn’t starve . That is a good reason…Times were tough and money was tight .
I pawned my Ibenez so I could go to Ozzfest . That was the dumbest reason ever. I don’t have a legitimate reason . I was just plain stupid.
I miss my Charvel the most .

Pocket pool- is that a little tiny pool table you can fit in your pocket? That sounds very cute. Just make sure there are no holes in your pocket, you’ll be reaching in there all day to make sure it doesn’t fall out, people might get the wrong impression.

Cold outdoor gig – Dec. 19th – What do we need to do for the instruments & equipment?

My band is playing at the Dallas Convention Center on an outdoor stage. Is there anything we can do / need to do to protect the guitars, drums, bass, etc? What about the pro audio gear? I know we’ll have to let them ‘normalize’ to the temperature before we tune and play… Are there any dangers?

well as long as the temperature change isn’t to drastic as in warm to cold too fast and vice versa your usually alright with your instruments, and it’s gonna be mountain air dry if it’s not snowing, god forbid, so investing in some in case humidifiers wouldn’t be a bad idea, keep everything in the case till the last minute and right back in when your done, as far as the audio gear goes it likes the cold and dry, it just don’t like snow and water,

You need to work with a DJ company for a while before you go out on your own. Then you will know what you need to start your own business. But if you think you can just start a business because you think it would be cool, then you are sadly mistaken. Unless you learn to read crowds and understand how it all works, you will be out of business within a year.

Sorry for the harsh words, but I want to make sure you know what you are getting into.

if a lot of stuff, goes airfreight. There are freight forwarders who specialize in this….it gets palletized or containerized, inside its special carrying cases.

I’ve had Rock Band 2 for a while, and I have the Rock Band 2 Guitar and Drums, but now I want to get Guitar Hero World Tour. Can I use the same instruments?

YES I HAVE ALL THE EQUIPMENT FOR ROCK BAND AND IT WORKS FOR GUITAR HERO.

FOR THE DRUM KIT THO…THE TRICK TO GOING INTO THAT POWER OVERDRIVE THINGY IS TO HIT "BLUE" AND "YELLOW" AT THE SAME TIME.

Why do airlines make you turn off all electronic equipment during takeoff and landing?

I can’t believe the tiny power my iPod gives out could possibly interfere with the airplane’s flight instruments.

You’re right. The majority of electronic devices would not cause any interference whatsoever. The problem is this: with the plethora of devices, can you tell me the stats on every single one of them? Can you tell me exactly how much every single electronic device ever created radiates? Neither can I. Rather than get into an argument with passengers when you allow some of them to use electronic equipment and others not, it is easier and less hassle to issue a blanket statement simply prohibiting use of all of them so you avoid those few that do interfere.
