Why do airlines make you turn off all electronic equipment during takeoff and landing?
I can’t believe the tiny power my iPod gives out could possibly interfere with the airplane’s flight instruments.
You’re right. The majority of electronic devices would not cause any interference whatsoever. The problem is this: with the plethora of devices, can you tell me the stats on every single one of them? Can you tell me exactly how much every single electronic device ever created radiates? Neither can I. Rather than get into an argument with passengers when you allow some of them to use electronic equipment and others not, it is easier and less hassle to issue a blanket statement simply prohibiting use of all of them so you avoid those few that do interfere.

Do you have to play an instrument to be a music therapist?
I’m a junior in high school and i really want to do something in college that it music related. In order to be a music therapist, do you have to know how to play an instrument? Any ideas?
Several in fact! and not just casually you need to be up to a high standard in each one including piano and guitar at least. Check out your some colleges around you or your states music therapist association for requirements. Its different for each state/ country. Try http://www.musictherapy.org/ first

What are the minimum instruments you need in a band to get good music?
Hope you guys can help me to answer this.
What are the minimum instruments you need in a band to produce good music
This one is kind of open ended and complicated. there is no "simple answer". I mean, it depends what you have access to, your style of playing, what kind of music your into, and how many people you could play with. If you look at famous bands, probably the minimum would be Nirvana (I believe they got away with two guitarists and a drummer, but don’t quote me on that). And even if you had a two man gig, you can do some awesome stuff with two guitars. However, I would say it depends on how many people your playing for (if you are doing gigs, which I assume you will be). Realistically, I would say that your "standard" small band should have a lead guitarist, rhythm guitarist/ slash singer (if your going to do vocals, it would probably easiest for the rhythm guitarist), and a drummer. Like I said though, there are a lot of variables involved.

what’s the best budget recording software and equipment for making a music track?
I’ve got all the instruments (guitars, drums, midi/electric keyboard, and microphone but it’s a cheap one) and a computer with windows xp media center and a built in mic, but I need to know what programs are out there for about 50 dollars that’ll work on windows xp and let my band record and edit music easily. We also need some pointers on what microphones and other stuff we’ll need for most rock type music. and remember, only windows stuff. we don’t want to have to buy an imac or their version of xp just to run garageband. we can do that at one of our friends’ houses when we record @ really good quality.
For 50 bucks??? I don’t think you’re gonna find ANYTHING that cheap, unless you get REAL lucky at a pawn shop. Now if you want to kick in another hundred, go buy an Alesis Multimix 8. Plugs direct to your computer with a USB cable, sounds great, and is easy to use. You can also go directly to a CD burner with it. It comes with a Cubase LE program, so you can record in wav.

If you could play ONE instrument PERFECTLY, effortlessly, which would you choose to play??
Say you were able to pick any musical instrument, and you were granted one wish to play that instrument perhaps better than anyone has ever played it in the history of humankind…which instrument would you choose? Piano, drums, guitar??? Trumpet? Violin? Sax? other? and why?
I cannot choose here, and I am putting this to a vote. My grandfather used to play ragtime on his piano, and the whole room would shake…I am so so partial to piano, using your feet and hands, it’s just an unbelievable instrument. I play it, but not nearly well enough to be satisfied, and I dream about just sitting on the bench and belting out rag or rachmaninoff, filling the room with staggering notes. I also LOVE the drums, but I’m too spastic! haha.
piano, so versatile.

What instrument is easier to play, the clarinet or the flute?
I would like to know which instrument is easier to play because in grade 7 we choose which one of those instruments we want to play. The girls usually have that sort of choice
Both instruments can be hard at first. The easiest to start with would be clarinet, but later on when they get to the high notes it gets harder. Flutes are hard to get a sound out of first, but get easier with time. Flutes also are easier to play both high and low notes. There is a time where clarinets have it harder than flutes, and when flutes have it harder than clarinets. It also depends on whether you a have an easier time getting sound out of a clarinet or flute. I would say, whatever instrument you think you would enjoy the most. Also which sound you prefer, a high sound like the flute, or a lower sound like the clarinet. You should also like the sound of the instrument, because you are going to be spending a lot of time practicing at first.
Which is easier to play? It depends on which instrument seems easier to you. Try asking your teacher if there will be an opportunity to try out both instruments and see which is easier to play.

I play alto sax but since i have anaemia ( and a lack of oxygen because of it) how can i play the instrument with low oxygen without fainting?
Is there anything i can do before a concert or something?
