What instrument plays the overture in phantom of the opera, and where can you get the official music for it?

I am a proficient piano/organ player, and I want to learn the overture from phantom of the opera. I am pretty sure it is some type of organ, but not completely. I also cannot find the location of official, original music for the overture. To sum it up, what instrument plays phantom of the opera: Overture, and where can u get the original and official music for it? Thank you in advance!

If you look at the YEAR that Phantom was composed.. then the best guess would be the organ used is a GIANT WURLITZER.. and the recorded pieces have a definite GIANT WURLITZER sound to them.

The one thing you know is.. it has to be a WURLITZER, or an ALLEN or a ROGERS or a CONN because they were the only big organs being built in the 1980’s

Is it possible for adults to learn to play an instrument?

I know that it’s easier to learn as a child or teen, but I want to learn to play guitar and I’m almost 30 years old. Is this possible? Are there some older people out there who just learned to play an instrument? Just curious! Thanks!

I’m 35 and I am learning how to play guitar….actually,
it’s much easier than I thought.

ps…i find I learn things far easier than an adult than as
a child. Don’t know why.

How do orchestras or other groups choose their instruments?

How do orchestras or other groups choose their instruments? Not the instrument type, but the maker, etc. I talk mainly of the "Big Five" orchestras and other big-name groups.
Thanks so much for the help guys! A little further questioning, if I may:

Can you give me any examples of how orchestras use the same maker in certain sections to achieve like sound?

It is the decision of each player what instrument maker they use. However in some sections the same maker would help to make the section blend a bit better.
In the String sections, it would be entirely up to the individual.
In the Percussion section the instruments are usually selected and owned by the orchestra. Brass and Woodwind fall in the middle ground as to players preference or a certain orchestral sound.
I have never heard of an orchestra that required a particular makers instruments.

SWEET SEX joke 4 u…Extreme Hard Core Content. Literally…?

Lewis’s cousin, the farmer, ordered a high-tech milking machine. Since the equipment arrived when his wife was out of town, he decided to test it on himself first. So, he inserted his penis into the equipment, turned the switch on and everything else was automatic.

Soon, he realized that the equipment provided him with as much pleasure as his wife did. When the fun was over, though, he quickly realized that he couldn’t remove the instrument from his penis. He read the manual but didn’t find any useful information. He tried every button on the instrument, but still without success. Finally, the farmer decided to call the supplier’s Customer Service Hot Line.

"Hello, I just bought a milking machine from your company. It works fantastic, but how do I remove it from the cow’s udder?" "Don’t worry," replied the customer service rep, "The machine will release automatically once it’s collected two gallons."

OMG…LMAO!! Thanks for the humor!!

What were the uses of cymbals throughout history?

For my music assignment, we have to write a research paper on an assigned instrument, and for me I got the cymbals. Were the cymbals used for things like religious ceremony’s, or things like military combat in ancient times? Thanks.

Interesting question. Especially in light of the fact that Zildjian Cymbals are one of the oldest continuously operating companies.
Mostly throughout history they were used as today, to highlight a certain passage in music.

Its an instrument I dont Know what I bought it looks like a flute?

Its not a flute not a recorder I bought it in Ocean adventure and used my Aetas in Philippines whats that instrument?

Is it possibly a pan flute? If it was purchased in a tourist area, it could be a generic reed flute with random holes and pretty decorations. It would help if you could post a photo.

What’s the best instrument for a tween girl to learn to play?

I really wanna learn to play an instrument. I was thinking piano but my parents don’t have enough money. Any suggestions to a similar instrument? I want a challenging instrument and I’m a visual learner. Plz help!

Go to a music shop and spend at least an hour there touching and playing with the instruments. See which inspire you. No one can answer this but you.

I will say that the classic guitar is a great all-round instrument because it’s just so common. You’ll find one at parties and people’s houses for the rest of your life, and it’s fun if you know how to play.
